Trimming your candle wicks to 1/4" before each lighting will help the candle to perform its best and reduces sooting. Give the wick a trim before each time burning the candle for a clean, even burn every time. 

• The wick trimmer is designed to trim wicks that have been burned. They will not cut cleanly through brand new wicks, paper, or other materials.
